Aticama Museum of Archaeology and History

MUSEUM SPONSORS

The Aticama Museum of Archaeology and History receives no governmental funding to pay for its operation, maintenance and projects. We need your financial support! The success of our Museum is entirely dependent upon the largess of our supporters. We have monthly expenses for electricity, telephone, internet, cleaning, building maintenance, programs and events. Without your financial support, we cannot execute our mission.

In addition to fund raising projects and donations from our supporters, we have Sponsors who donate a minimum of 300 dollars per year to the museum. Information about our Sponsors is provided below. If you would like to donate or become a sponsor, please contact us at museo@aticama.com.

Name: LEON POPE
My name is Leon Pope and I was born and raised in Texas. I received my Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University of Texas School of Law and have been a licensed attorney in Texas for forty years. I owned a law firm in Texas prior to retiring to Aticama, Nayarit where I have resided full time for over 20 years. I am President of the Centro Cultural Bahia Matanchen in Aticama as well as President of the Aticama Community Museum of Archaeology and History. As a member of our local community here in Mexico, I am proud to support the Aticama Museum of Archaelogy and History and hope that other like minded individuals become museum sponsors as well.
Name: JORGE LUIS GONZALEZ TIJERINA
I was born in Tamaulipas, Mexico and have lived in Aticama for more than 20 years. I am a member of the Ejido of Aticama and helped convince the Ejido of Aticama to donate the land for the current museum building. I interface with Noe Castellanos, the co-ordinator of community museums for the State of Nayarit, and other INAH representatives in Tepic to insure that the museum continues to meet INAH requirements.
Name: PETER ANTHONY LYNCH
Hello everyone. My name is Peter Lynch and I was born, raised and educated in San Francisco, California. I attended the University of San Francisco and received my Bachelor of Science in Economics in 1969 and my Master of Business Administration in 1972. I spent 20 years as an international executive and had the pleasure of traveling to six continents and 65 countries. I later served for 24 years as a financial advisor with Merrill Lynch. My passions and hobbies are tennis, fly fishing, golf, reading and travel. As a member of our community here in Mexico, I am honored to support the Aticama Museum of Archaelogy and History and hope that other like minded individuals become museum sponsors as well.
Name: Fred and Fran Olin
FRED OLIN: I am a retired teacher and administrator from the State of Washington. I have lived part time in Aticama, Nayarit on the very south end of Playa Matanchen for the past 13 years. I got involvedvery early with the Aticama Museum of Archaeology and History and contributed to the construction fund for the museum. I believe that educational museums that preserve the cultural heritage of our local community make Mexico better for everyone in the future. We are proud to be museum sponsors and hope you will consider being a sponsor as well.

FRAN OLIN: I hail from Port Orchard, Washington and reside part time in Aticama, Nayarit on Bahia Matanchen. I am a retired high school teacher and career counselor. While in Port Orchard, I handle the food donations from my church to the local food bank. I am also a server once a month at “Family Kitchen” (meals for anyone who happens to show). My husband, Fred, and I have been life-long supporters of educational and cultural ctivities. We are also proud sponsors of our local college scholarship program here in Mexico, Becas Matanchen, that provides a pathway for eligible/motivated students to earn a post-secondary degree. With great pride, we are museum sponsors and encourage interested others to become museum sponsors as well!
